Thoughts as of late

So, I have been thinking about salvation and what it is and what it means and trying to sort through it, not to rationalize it with my human mind but to realize how much I need it. I have been thinking about how much we need salvation, and how much we do not realize we need it. To be more specific we have no idea we needed and sometimes do not know how much we need it still. God designed a perfect plan for salvation and has had it planned for a long time! Even in the old testament he was setting up for the arrival of Christ! With things such as the priestly order of melchizedek and prophecies given. It makes you realize that God knows what is best for us and his timing is perfect! He realizes what we need, when we have no clue that we need these things! God always makes it possible for us to get what we need, and I am so thankful for that! All we need is what God gives to us! Lets imagine for a second that we needed a perfect government full of honest politicians who knew exactly what was best for us or if we needed family and friends who never let us down, I believe that we would never get what we need! I encourage you, think about salvation, read what the Bible says about it. Know that you need it and that you are not able to receive anything else like it from anyone!

Humility

When I pray for humility it always scares me! Because I know that if I truly desire humility the opportunity to be humbled will present itself. Fortunately I was recently humbled in several ways. One - I broke my finger helping someone clean up a building that had burned, now making a big deal out of it for sympathy's sake would not be a humble thing to do. Second - I was out of line when talking about a man who is a racist. Whether or not this man thinks that those of other races are of the same amount of worth as someone who is white is between him and God and pray for his sake that his heart be broken! But, I was right when saying that this man hated black people, but I said it in the wrong company and with the wrong motive. Just because i was right does not make what I said right. Humbled. Conviction was appropriate, and God did so! Now I have to humble myself and apologize to those who were in my company! God Be Praised for forgiveness!

Get Used

I want to be used by God for great and powerful things! However I do not want the glory for these things! While I was in Africa I heard a lot of things prayed for, one being for a young man to receive his ability to hear. We prayed and prayed and prayed, I prayed in the name of Jesus the only name with the ability for such things to happen through us. When one of my friends prayed, God not that anyone will hear of this and believe in our power but that you would be glorified! How often do we pray for things and do not even consider God's glory as a reason for these things to happen? I say to you pray for things, but do not pray for them out of selfish ambition. But, pray for things that might be used for God to be glorified!!! Nothing else really matters. I realized in that time that we were not really praying for this young man to receive the ability to hear we were praying for God to be glorified!

My name is Seth Mason and I am a bond servant of Jesus Christ and this is my blog. Ask me what my religeous beliefs are and I will say religion has its place but I prefer to tell you about my master! I worship and serve a perfect God who loves me and has given his son as the payment for my sin, and I love him for that!
